The Newcastle Permanent Community Awards for 2019 were announced recently. These awards provide the much needed recognition for the people that keep our game running throughout the year. The coaches, the volunteers and the referees contributing each week to their local footballing communities.
The winners of the Macquarie Football Community Awards are:
Coach of the Year
Mat Moncrieff
Not only did Mat coach across 6 different teams and age groups at Kahibah FC in 2019 including development squads and Northern League One teams; he also contributed to the club committee, each game-day, and members of not only the club but of the wider community as well.
Volunteer of the Year
Loren Cooney
Loren is a dedicated volunteer at Southern Lakes United covering for the roles of Registrar, Club Secretary, organizing sponsorships and fundraising just to name a few. Loren has been a fantastic asset for her club and has contributed an incredible amount during the 2019 season.
Referee of the Year
Will Donaldson
Will had an exceptional 2019 season as a referee. His enthusiastic nature in every game he officiates is exemplary. Will consistently performs well whenever called upon and handles himself excellently on and off the field in a professional manner.
