Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) has been working with the NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian to hold two Working with Children Check Information sessions specifically for Member Clubs in the coming months.
NNSWF is encouraging all clubs to send at least 1 representative to these events to ensure they are aware and across the NSW Working with Children Check Legislation and their clubs requirements to comply with Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and the Northern NSW Football Working with Children Check Policy.
Over three-quarters of our playing population are boys and girls under the age of 18. This places significant importance on the safety of these players in our sport and the responsibility we have as administrators and leaders of our game to ensure their continued safety both on and off the field.
The information session is a great opportunity for clubs to ask questions regarding best practice and learn from what other clubs are also doing in this area.
The information sessions and workshops cover:
- The WWCC application and verification process
- Individual, employer and club administration responsibilities
- How to help keep kids safer in sport and recreation environments
