Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) U17 Women’s National Team Head Coach Rae Dower will be Guest Speaker at a FREE Newcastle Permanent Community Coaching Master-Class, proudly presented by Newcastle Permanent, our Official Partner in Community Football across Northern NSW.
Holding an AFC / FFA Pro Dipolma, the former Westfield Matilda, former Coach of the 2016-17 Westfield W-League Winning Canberra United Women’s team, former head coach of the National Training Centre United/ACTAS, Dower is one of the most experienced and qualified female coaches in Australia. Dower has over 20 years of coaching experience and has a great understanding of the game and is willing to share all her knowledge with Northern NSW Football’s registered coaches.
In the past 12 months, Dower’s Junior Matildas have ventured to Bishkek in Kyrgyz Republic and Laos for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship qualifications. A successful two stages have seen the Junior Matildas qualify, and will be off to Thailand in September.
Local footballers Josie Morley, Kirsty Fenton, Ruby Jones and Teagan Douglas were all a part of the previous Junior Matildas squads and Dower is in now on the scout to select her next squad.
Dower will be joining us to speak about the competencies she looks for in identifying players for Junior Matildas Camps and Tours.
This Masterclass is a unique opportunity for registered and accredited coaches of youth and senior teams and SAP coaches. Coaches, parents and players are also invited to attend. Dower will provide a brief introduction/overview of how she identifies players for Junior Matildas and will be available for questions at the final 10 minutes of the Masterclass.
