Play for Lachlan

July 19th, 2016

Northern NSW Football along with the Newcastle Jets are teaming up with Warners Bay Football Club to help raise funds for a young local footballer, Lachlan Urbanowicz.

Lachlan Urbanowicz is an active young boy in the Newcastle Region, who plays in the Warners Bay under 12 Development Team, who has recently been diagnosed with Auto-immune Haemolytic Anaemia and the best medicine for him that he needs most right now is blood.

Due to the amount of blood Lachlan needs, Warners Bay Football is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at their ground, in hope to achieve to raise money to donate to the Urbanowicz family.

Special guests on the day will include Newcastle Jets A-League representatives; Nigel Boogaard, Nick Cowburn and Devante Clut and well as W-League representatives; Cassidy Davis, Jenna Kingsley, and Adriana Jones, who will be at the ground from 11:30am in support of Lachlan. As well as 2NXFM will be doing a live cross on the day to show their support.

Warners Bay Football Club is asking for all teams participating and spectators on the day to show their support in wearing the colour red, whether it is; clothes, face paint, boots or tape; they encourage the field to be a ‘sea of red’.

If you are unable to make it on the weekend, Warners Bay Football Club would like to encourage those that are healthy and active to please donate their blood to Red Cross at their local donor centre.

This is a really tough time for one of our football families. We encourage anyone that is available on the weekend to your support by wearing red, by donating blood and for your team to be an active part in Playing for Lachlan.
