Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) is pleased to announce the Newcastle Permanent Community Referee of the Month for August 2017 across the zones.
“Referees are vital to the enjoyment of the game by players, coaches and spectators alike and each of this month’s winners has shown that they take this responsibility very seriously,” NNSWF Community Football Manager Peter Haynes said.
“I congratulate each of the winners of their award on behalf of NNSWF and all players, coaches and spectators across the state.”
Each winner will be presented a prize pack including a jacket, cap, water bottle and a referee card set to assist in fulfilling their valuable duties on and off the field.
From the pool of monthly winners, a “Newcastle Permanent Referee of the Year” for each Zone will be recognised at the Northern NSW Football Annual Awards Night.
Newcastle Permanent CEO Terry Millett echoes Haynes’ sentiments and applauds the volunteers who received the award.
“Referees are often unappreciated and under a lot of pressure. It great to see referees who are respected by their peers and players,” Millett said.
The August Newcastle Permanent Community Referee of the Month Award recipients from across each of its seven Member Zones are as follows:
Jackson Kippax
North Coast Football
Jackson is a highly involved club person, player and referee.
He is a fair referee who passes his knowledge on to the young players allowing them to enjoy the game and learn at the same time. This allows the game flow and he is respected by the players, parents and officials alike.
He continually makes himself available to referee numerous underage games and does so always in a manner that is a credit to himself, his family and the game of soccer.
Tahlia Gossner
Newcastle Football
I have watched Tahlia improve her Instructing Referee from Round 1, as she officiated all home matches for my grandsons 10’s at South Wallsend.
Joshua Bailey

Joshua has been improving himself by stepping up to fill in as referee of senior games as needed and can always be relied upon to make himself available often with late changes for appointments as both Referee or AR irrespective of the time or distance needed in travelling
Joshua is a very pleasant and well respected young man who goes about his officiating confidently and is capable; it is always a pleasure teaming up and working with Josh.
Ruby Charge

Ruby has just been selected to attend the NNSWF Girls Talented Official Program Camp for the second consecutive year, where she will again officiate in the Girls State Championships.
Ruby is a very capable match official who really enjoys officiating on community football. She puts all of her efforts into every match and is professional and approachable at all times.
Luka Taylor
Football Far North Coast
Luka is an aspiring young referee who began officiating in 2016 and has continued to grow as a match official this season.
Luka has a positive attitude toward refereeing and has a willingness to listen and ask questions, which will continue to help him develop as a referee. Luka shows a lot of potential to become a very good match official and is receptive to listening and taking advice from others. The enthusiasm that Luke has for his role as a match official demonstrates maturity well beyond his young age and he is already a good role model for his peers.
Brandon Wallace
Football Mid North Coast
Brandon is only 15, turning 16 this year. He is involved in many senior games each, from achieving his first ladies centre this month, as well as many assistant referee games in the local Premier League competition. Despite the workload, Brandon still pushes himself every week and never turns down an opportunity to referee more games. He is also a very mature young man and deserves to be rewarded for his efforts.

Jye is a junior referee who loves the game and enjoys helping kids develop skills and understanding of the game
