Barnsley Football Club Awarded Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award for May

June 30th, 2017

Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Barnsley Football Club, from Macquarie Football as Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Winner for May 2017.

Barnsley Football Club was awarded as the winner of the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award due to its significant contribution to the local community through pushing hard during their registration period that has resulted in a major influx of players compared to last season and constantly improving their facility to enhance not only the players’ experience but the communities.

“Barnsley Football Club has made a significant and valuable contribution to the community through their successful engagement and work strategies with their local community schools and council by bringing them together to better all those involved’s football experience,” NNSWF Community Football Manager Peter Haynes commented.

“We applaud the efforts of Barnsley Football Club’s Committee, coaches and players which demonstrate that community is integral to the club’s ethos,” Haynes concluded.

Newcastle Permanent Acting CEO, Mark Williams echoed Haynes’ sentiments and is pleased a local Macquarie club has been rewarded for its efforts.

“Newcastle Permanent is proud to support community football across Northern NSW and it is great to see clubs working hard to make football such an inclusive sport, while teaching players about discipline and respect, both on and off the field,” Williams said.

Tinonee Soccer Club will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher thanks to Newcastle Permanent that will allow the club to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts in growing the game in the Region.

The Newcastle Permanent Playmaker Award recognises clubs for contribution to football on and off the playing field across areas including football experience, club activities, coach, volunteer management and special projects.
